In conjunction with [Imhotep]: The Academy of Scientific Research and Technology launches a workshop on the national strategy for quantum computing

Continuing its efforts to develop scientific research levels in the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology announced the launch of the first workshop entitled: “The National Strategy for Quantum Computing”, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Gina Sami El-Feky, Acting President of the Academy, and Prof. Dr. Sherine Abdel-Qader Moharram, President of the Electronics Research Institute.
The workshop, organized in collaboration with the Telecommunications Research Council and the Basic Sciences Research Council – Specialized Councils Sector, aims to explore future prospects for discussing quantum computing technology and its applications in the country.
The workshop is scheduled to begin on Saturday, February 7th, at the Electronics Research Institute.
This comes in conjunction with the Academy’s announcement of opening the doors for applications for research projects within the framework of the Egyptian-French scientific cooperation protocol entitled: [Imhotep].
According to what the Academy decided, research projects of the type [Mobility Projects] will be accepted, between January 12 and April 19, 2026, provided that the project implementation period is over 24 months, with funding of 300 thousand pounds annually for each project.
The program includes a wide range of research areas, including:
Agriculture and Water, New and Renewable Energy, Engineering, Information and Communication Technology, Health and Biotechnology, Mathematics, Physics, Earth and Space Sciences, Chemistry, Humanities and Social Sciences, Tourism and Education.
