China · Jiaozuo International Taijiquan Competition – 12th Edition
The China · Jiaozuo International Taijiquan Competition is one of the most important and internationally recognized events dedicated to Taijiquan. Now in its twelfth edition, this competition takes place in China and welcomes athletes, practitioners, and masters from many countries, serving as a privileged meeting point between tradition, contemporary practice, and international cultural exchange.
The event is held in the city of Jiaozuo, in Henan Province, a region considered the historical cradle of Taijiquan, particularly of its traditional styles. It is therefore not merely a sporting competition, but also a symbolic return to the cultural and philosophical roots of this discipline.
The competition is often held in conjunction with the Yuntai Mountain Tourism Festival, creating a meaningful dialogue between martial practice, natural landscape, and cultural heritage. In this context, Taijiquan is presented not only as a martial art or competitive discipline, but as a living expression of Chinese culture, capable of integrating health, meditation, art, and tradition.
The event program includes:
• Taijiquan form competitions (bare-hand and weapons),
• demonstrations by traditional and contemporary schools,
• collective performances,
• cultural activities and opportunities for exchange among masters, practitioners, and the public.
This diversity of activities makes the Jiaozuo competition a key reference point for both traditional and competitive Taijiquan, offering space for different levels of practice and interpretation.
The twelfth edition took place from September 15 to 21, 2025, confirming the event as one of major international relevance. Its importance lies not only in competitive results, but above all in its ability to build bridges between East and West, between past and present, and between individual practice and collective experience.
In this sense, the China · Jiaozuo International Taijiquan Competition is not simply a tournament, but a true celebration of Taijiquan as a path of balance, awareness, and deep relationship between body, mind, and culture.
